My Family...

Kitty Malone Keeling and I were married on July 31, 1971. Since then we’ve traveled over about half the world, lived in a couple of dozen places while in the military, and we raised two children.

Kitty graduated from Sam Rayburn High School in Pasadena, Texas, and attended Sam Houston State University and Central Texas college.  She enjoyed a 28 year banking career until July 2007.  She had experience in varied, ground floor operations, including service in state and national banks, a savings and loan and an international banking concern in Europe.

Kitty’s civic affiliations and honors include: Army Distinguished Service Medal; Officer’s Wives’ Club Board of Directors, Germany; Officer’s Wives’ Club Vice President, Germany; Waller Lioness Club Chapter Vice President; Waller Baptist Church Finance Committee; Waller Baptist Church Nursery Supervisor; Waller ISD Gifted and Talented Advisory Committee; PTA Treasurer; Waller Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors; Board Member, Waller Economic Development Corporation.

Kitty currently serves as Assistance Director for Waller Assistance & Restoration Ministries, Inc., a 501c3 charity dedicated to improving the lives and situation of those suffering hard times or disadvantage.

Amanda Blakley McCaig was born in Germany on March 6, 1983.  She graduated with honors from Waller High School in 2001, having been active as a varsity cheerleader, in the high school band, Beta Club, and with Thespian Honors in Drama.  Blake (Amanda's nickname is Blake) attended Texas A&M University, Texas State University and Texas Culinary Institute.  Amanda is a certified la Cordon Bleu chef, with special interests in Italian cuisine.  She lives in Austin, and was self-employed for a number of years, operating her own Internet development and advertising business.  Blake joined the Dell computer corporation in 2010, working in sales and marketing.  Blake is an accomplished musician, percussionist and vocalist and uses her talents in both secular and church venues. She is engaged to be married.

Our son, Donald Edward McCaig was born at Fort Hood, Texas on October 2, 1985.  He graduated with honors from Waller High School in 2004.  Donald played football from PeeWee to junior varsity, and was active in the high school band and choir.  He graduated with Thespian Honors in Drama.  Donald is a graduate of Howard Payne University in Brownwood with a degree in Christian Studies.  Donald is a licensed and ordained minister, has served as pastor of The Open Door Church in Bangs, Texas and recently completed a two-year service as Pastor, First Baptist Church of Palo Pinto, Texas.  Donald married Taylor Renae Gibson in May, 2010, who grew up as a ranch girl on the historic Gaines Bend Ranch, in the Possum Kingdom area of Texas.  Donald is an accomplished musician and vocalist as well as a writer of Christian study materials.  Donald and Taylor currently live in the Austin area.

Matriarch of the family, Nina McCaig, continues to be a positive influence in our family's life.  She lives in Waller and remains active in her church and the community.  She survives her late husband, former County Judge A. M. McCaig.

I am the second of four children.  Nancy Arnold lives in Waller and serves on the Waller City Council.  Betty Hart is lives in Waller with husband Don and operates Don Hart Radiator and Gas Tank Renu.  Linda Engel works for Allen Independent School District and has a son serving in the U.S. Army.
