Judge Hands Down lengthy Sentences
On Friday, September 3, Judge Albert M. McCaig, Jr., presiding over the 506th
District Court in Waller County, sentenced Woodrow Norris Woodard, of Waller, to a 20-year prison term for possession of a
controlled substance with intent to deliver (methamphetamine), a first-degree felony. The possible punishment range
for a first-degree felony is 5-99 years or life in prison. Woodard was also sentenced to a 10-year prison term for possession
of a controlled substance with intent to deliver (dihydrocodeinone), a second-degree felony. The possible punishment
range for a second-degree felony is 2-10 years imprisonment.

Judge McCaig also sentenced Eric Lamon Johnson, of Prairie
View, to two 16-year prison terms for possession of controlled substances (cocaine and codeine), second-degree felonies.
Both sentences are to be served concurrently. According to (DA Elton) Mathis, Johnson has several prior convictions
for delivery of controlled substances in Waller and Washington Counties, and a criminal history spanning back to 1993.
